Theatre Downtown of Orlando continues its excellent reputation, which was established in 1989 in downtown Orlando's Tropical Theatre.

Since their first production, David Mamet's "American Buffalo," the theater has created a reputation as a cultural resource for Central Florida.

The classics and the cutting edge are all represented here. The theater has produced "The Grapes of Wrath," "The Tempest," "Sylvia," and "Wonder of the World," just to name a few.

Of note, Theatre Downtown was voted "Best Local Repertory Company" in the Orlando Weekly's Best of Orlando Promotion in 2001.
